Fitness Classes
Brooke BAteman
Certified Barre Instructor
My passion for wellness, skincare, and self-care began long before I opened The Refinery Wellness Center. Growing up, I was surrounded by movement and healthy living. Both of my parents were long-distance runners, and my mom taught aerobics classes. She also taught me that taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's essential. Through spa days, exercise, and making time to recharge, she showed me the value of honoring your own well-being.
Movement has been a constant throughout my life. Before returning home, getting married, and raising three children, I spent years training for 5Ks and half marathons and working with a personal trainer. Running became more than exercise; it became a way to clear my mind, find balance, and reconnect with myself.
As a business owner, wife, and mother, I understand how easy it is to put yourself at the bottom of the list. Over the years, I've explored a wide range of wellness practices, worked alongside talented practitioners, participated in retreats and workshops, and immersed myself in learning about nutrition, movement, and holistic health.
One of the most meaningful lessons I've learned is that wellness isn't about constantly striving to become someone else. It's about coming home to yourself and recognizing that you are already enough.
That belief is what guides my work today. While continuing my studies toward becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, I recently earned my Barre Fitness Instructor certification. Barre combines many of the elements I love most about movement—strength, balance, flexibility, mindfulness, and grace—and has become one of my favorite ways to move my body when I'm not running.
Whether through skincare, wellness services, or movement, my goal has always been the same: to create welcoming spaces where people can care for themselves, build confidence, and reconnect with who they are. I believe wellness should feel supportive, sustainable, and accessible—and that every person deserves time to nurture both body and mind.
