BROOKE BATEMAN

The Refinery Esthetics Bar, LLC

Owner, Board-certified licensed Aesthetician, Usui Reiki Master, Wellness Educator | Certificates in Crystal Energy Balancing, Aromatherapy, Dermaplaning | BS in Marketing + Entrepreneurship

“Beauty is energetic”

Brooke is a skilled Esthetician with a passion for holistic skincare and healing. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, but her true calling was revealed after years of soul-searching and self-care. In 2008, Brooke pursued her passion for skincare and became a licensed Esthetician, marking a pivotal turning point in her career and life.

After gaining valuable experience in the spa industry, she opened The Refinery Esthetics Bar, LLC in 2016, offering a variety of facial services and brow waxing. Starting small while still balancing a day job, she quickly realized the power of skincare as not only a physical treatment but also a form of healing. Over the years, Brooke has expanded her services and now owns and operates The Refinery Wellness Center, a nurturing space where other healing practitioners work alongside her to provide holistic care to clients.

With a deep understanding of how skin reflects the body’s internal state, Brooke believes that true skincare goes beyond surface-level treatments. Her approach connects physical wellness with energetic balance, ensuring that each client leaves feeling rejuvenated, calm, and centered. She specializes in facials that focus on soothing and restoring the skin while also offering energy work to promote emotional and mental wellness.

Brooke has continued to broaden her expertise, taking certifications in advanced treatments such as Dermaplaning and Aromatherapy, among others. She integrates her knowledge of Reiki and other healing practices into her skincare services, helping her clients achieve a sense of harmony in both body and spirit.

Outside of her work in skincare, Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, whether they’re gardening, golfing, or relaxing together at home. She is excited to continue helping clients on their skincare journeys, with a strong belief that true beauty radiates from a healthy, balanced body and mind.

SHANNON ROGERS

HOLISTIC SKIN and SCALP WELLNESS

Board-certified licensed Cosmetologist

For as long as I can remember, I have battled with scalp issues. It seemed that no matter how many shampoos I tried—or how much money I spent—nothing truly worked. Drugstore brands, high-end formulas, natural remedies... I tried them all. My shelves were a graveyard of half-used bottles, each one a hopeful promise that never delivered.

But what started as a frustrating personal struggle eventually became the root of my life’s purpose.

I’m Shannon, a licensed cosmetologist with over 15 years of experience and a VICI Aveda Institute of Cosmetology graduate. While hair was my first love, skin became my calling. My journey wasn’t a straight line—it was winding, filled with trial, error, and eventually, healing.

My turning point came when I accepted a position as a team lead at a local spa, diving headfirst into the world of esthetics. As I guided others, I found myself learning even more. The skin, I discovered, was far more complex than surface-level beauty. It told stories, held tension, and reflected our internal world. And yet, despite my deepening knowledge, my scalp issues lingered.

That’s when I realized: it wasn’t just about what I was putting on my skin or scalp—it was about what was happening within.

Drawn to holistic wellness and healing, I found myself immersed in the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I had the incredible opportunity to assist three different acupuncturists over the course of several years. Working side-by-side with them opened my eyes. I learned about energy pathways, the mind-body connection, the importance of balance, and most importantly, root causes.

That was the moment it all clicked: true wellness doesn’t come from a bottle. It comes from understanding the body as a whole—mind, spirit, skin, and scalp included.

Today, I see beauty through a different lens. I’m not here to cover up problems—I’m here to help uncover their origins. My journey is still evolving, but it’s built on the belief that healing happens from the inside out.

What truly made me see through a different lens was becoming a wife and mother. Being a wife and mother is a wonderful gift from God. Striving to live a natural, healthy life for my family and me has been one of my biggest passions in life. Thankfully, I’ve learned so much along the way that I love to share and teach others all about what it means to live a happy, healthy life.

Important Policy Reminder

We are committed to creating positive, healthy, and respectful relationships with all our clients. Clear communication and mutual respect are essential for us to grow, thrive, and continue offering the best possible service.

No Shows & Late Cancellations

We understand that life happens, and we ask that you respect our cancellation policy. Appointment reminders are sent via email and text before your scheduled appointment. We request at least 24 hours’ notice (1 full day) if you need to cancel or reschedule, as this allows time for clients on our waitlist to book an opening.

  • Failure to cancel at least 24 hours in advance may result in a $50 fee.

  • If no card is on file, an invoice will be sent.

  • Non-payment of this fee may result in future appointments being denied.

While we understand unexpected situations arise (like sick kids or emergencies), we’ve found that a pattern of last-minute cancellations and no-shows has led to the need for stricter enforcement. We greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Infectious Diseases Policy

Per Wisconsin State Law and the guidelines set forth by my Aesthetics License, we are legally prohibited from providing services to clients with any contagious or infectious skin or scalp conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, cold sores (herpes simplex virus), fungal infections, warts, lice, scabies, or any other contagious disease.

If you arrive with an active, visible, contagious condition, we reserve the right to refuse service and apply a late cancellation fee. This includes cold sores in any stage of development or any other contagious skin condition.

Please understand this policy is in place for the health and safety of everyone involved. Timely communication and understanding of these boundaries allow us to maintain a safe, professional, and comfortable environment for all.

We sincerely appreciate all who respect our profession and allow us to provide the high-quality services you expect while maintaining a safe and healthy space for all.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support!
