CHINESE HERBOLOGY HAND or FOOT RENEWAL

Our hands work hard for us all day long, so give them a break with this one of a kind service. Whether you're a gardener, outdoor enthusiast or more of an indoor dweller - take a moment to slough off dry skin and leave your hands feeling luxuriously renewed with an emollient essential oil blend. This add-on service can be incorporated into any treatment at The Refinery Esthetics Bar.

LED THERAPY
This is a painless, relaxing, non-invasive skin-care treatment that uses an array of bright light-emitting diodes that send low-level light energy into the deeper layers of the skin.  This can be added to any facial treatment and is good for all skin types.
Red Light: (Wavelength 625+/-3nm (18 LEDs) Brightens and evens the skin tone. Proliferates collagen protein and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Tightens, firms and repairs damaged skin. An excellent repairing and anti-ageing treatment
Yellow Light: (Wavelength 500+/-3 (18 LEDs) Relieves irritation and aims to enhance the immunity within the skin. It also stimulates the lymphatic and nervous system, to rid the skin of toxins and increase circulation.
Blue Light (Wavelength 465+/-3nm (18 LEDs) Kills bacterium from within the skin whilst diminishing inflammation and preventing acne and breakouts.
Green Light (Wavelength 525+/-3nm (18 LEDs) Calms and balances the skin tone, this can help to break down and prevent uneven melanin (pigment) production. An excellent treatment that leaves the skin even and bright, whilst calming the skin and stimulating the lymphatic drainage system.

GALVANIC CURRENT
This modality involves the use of mild electric currents consisting of positive and negative ions to refresh, stimulate and rejuvenate the skin. It uses a process by the scientific name of iontophoresis to transport electrically charged particles (ions) into the skin through gels that are positively or negatively charged. The charged ingredients are carried into the deeper layers of the skin and concentrated there.
This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types. However, certain health conditions will prevent this add-on, we can always discuss options.

HIGH FREQUENCY
The safe, gentle oscillating and oxygenating power of high frequency electrical current has been shown to enhance blood circulation, increase collagen and elastin production, eliminate toxins and acne-causing bacteria, encourage lymphatic drainage, exfoliate dead skin cells and improve skin care product absorption. The primary action of high frequency current is thermal (heat producing) and is characterized by a high rate of oscillation. Due to its rapid rate of oscillation, high frequency does not cause muscular contractions - instead, it works on the principle of skin toning.   This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types. However, certain health conditions will prevent this add-on, we can always discuss options.

MICROCURRENT
This is a therapy that uses extremely low-level electrical currents (microcurrents) to treat nerve and muscle pain, inflammation, and other health challenges. A treatment course typically involves several sessions, and benefits accrue over time . It is a popular treatment for aging skin, using low level electrical current to trigger the body's natural skin enhancement chemicals at a cellular level, giving skin therapists an effective tool against the signs of skin aging by retraining the underlying muscles to tighten, givng a "face-lift" appearance in time.   This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types - especially those focusing on pro-aging. However, certain health conditions will prevent this add-on, we can always discuss options.

ULTRASONIC WAVE CLEANSING
During an ultrasonic cleanse, high-level sound wave technology is used to penetrate deep below the surface of the skin promoting cellular renewal and repair, toning muscles, increasing blood circulation, encouraging lymphatic drainage, combating puffiness and swelling and improving skin care product penetration.   This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types. However, certain health conditions will prevent this add-on, we can always discuss options.

CHEMICAL PEELS
Peels can make your skin—and skin-care products—work better. In minutes, acids lift away dead cells and trigger a lovely chain reaction. As that topmost layer is shed, signals are sent to the living cells below to multiply and move up, to increase collagen production, to make more hyaluronic acid—to act younger.   This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types except sensitive. However, frequent use of Retinols will prevent this add-on, we can always discuss options. It is recommended clients stop using any form of Retinol 5+ days prior to having any percentage of peel performed.

FACIAL CUPPING
Cupping is a therapy that uses suction cups to stimulate your skin and muscles. It can be done on your face or body, however at this time I offer it on the face only. The suction promotes increased blood circulation, which may help relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair, and aid in other regeneration.  This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types.

JADE ROLLING
Increases circulation and helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. The most well-known benefit of using a jade roller is that it helps to reduce puffiness and inflammation in the face due to stagnation of the lymphatic system.  This can be added to any facial service and is great for all skin types.
